Evonik held an open house of its new Birmingham Laboratories facility, located at 750 Lakeshore Parkway and 756 Tom Martin Drive in Birmingham, Ala., with officials praising the hard work and dedication of its employees. The company’s acquisition of the assets of SurModics Pharmaceuticals, Inc. helped strengthen Evonik’s healthcare product portfolio.

Evonik acquired the assets of SurModics Pharmaceuticals Inc., a subsidiary of SurModics Inc., and named the facility Birmingham Laboratories. The facility specializes in drug delivery technologies and manufacturing for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies. Beste noted the acquisition demonstrates Evonik’s commitment to expanding its healthcare product offering.
