01.09.2010	Evonik raises silica prices

Evonik said it will raise prices for precipitated and fumed silica products, special oxides and matting agents worldwide by up to 8 percent.

The increase will take effect from Oct. 1. An Evonik spokesman said the increase applies to all silica products including the precipitated silica Ultrasil for the tire industry. It also includes the fumed silica Aerosil that is occasionally used in tires, too.
