Polymeric Petroleum ResinsPolymeric petroleum resins (PPR) are efficient substitutes for such expensive materials as acrylates, epoxy resins, and polyurethanes, which are widely used in the production of paints and coatings. PPR materials are useful over a wide range of applications. The construction and the pulp and paper industries are also taking a great deal of interest in PPR. Low manufacturing costs and high profitability indices of PPR plants make this sector even more attractive for investors. Until now the rapidly growing CIS market of these products has been dominated entirely by Russian companies. They are steadily improving technologies in this field and are unlikely to yield their leadership to anyone else. The article is devoted to a detailed study of this sector of the chemical industry.
