Evaluating Competitiveness of Petrochemical Companies in Russia

The main way to improve competitive ability of the Russian chemical and petrochemical industries is to create controlled marketing networks, cut energy and resource consumption, introduce efficient pricing policy and up-to-date technologies. Chemical companies with a narrow range of products prevail in the Russian chemical complex. The most efficient firms are those which specialise in the production of one product and its derivatives. More than 80% of chemical and petrochemical goods are manufactured in the European part of Russia including the Ural Federal District. The Russian government considers the Krasnojarsk Region and Irkutsk Regions, and Republic Sakha to be perspective locations for new chemical projects.
