The Russian Market for Packaging Straps from Recycled PET

     In the first part, the author describes technical specifications of PET packaging straps and indicates their main advantages. PET packaging straps are not inferior to steel ones exceeding them in dynamic load stability. They perform better when the packed commodity warp out of shape and do not damage its surface. PET straps are also economical, weather-resistant, easy to transport and store – their weight is seven times as less as that of steel straps. The second part is devoted to the state of the Russian market of packaging straps made from recycled PET. The author briefly reviews the structure of supply/demand, consumption breakdown, the outlook for the Russian market, and the current production capacities for packaging straps.
