Eurasian chemical market

Interhim/Neftehim 2007

     From 31 October to 3 November the Ukrainian Expo centre in Kyiv, Ukraine, hosted the eleventh international exhibition of the chemical and petrochemical industries Interhim/Neftehim 2007 within the framework of the annual Industrial Week 2007. The event displays were divided into two main categories: Plastics 2007 (technology, machinery, feedstock, processing) and Corrosion Protection 2007 (innovative technologies, corrosion protection materials for equipment and industrial buildings).
     Traditionally, the event has been visited by around 100 exhibitors from the CIS countries, Iran, Poland, and the USA. In addition, during the Industrial week there were three more international exhibitions related to industries, i.e. Kyivmash 2007(machinery and machine building); Fuel, Resoures, Power Engineering 2007 (the production and use of conventional and alternative energy); Guma 2007(general rubber goods and tyres).
     To date, the chemical industry of Ukraine is making a considerable investment into the development of the national economy. According to 2006 results, chemical products make up 6.5% of the GDP, 6.9% in the Ukrainian overall production, 9.6% in exports, and 10.7% in imports.
