The II International Conference Formalin 2007

     On 2 October, the second international conference “Formalin 2007” organised by the consulting company Creon CJSC and supported by Bezopasnyje Tehnologii CJSC, was held at the hotel Baltchug Kempinski in Moscow. More than 50 representatives from both Russian and foreign companies, which are engaged in the formalin industry, participated in the event. The world formalin consumption in 2006 amounted to 28.1m tonnes (24m tonnes in 2003). The utilisation rate increased from 74% in 2003 to 76% in 2006 due to the growth of demand and production. At the same time, there was a slower commissioning of new production facilities. For the indicated period, a year-on-year rise of 37% formalin production amounted to 3.9% while the world consumption showed a 5.4% YOY increase.
