Production and Market of Tall Oil in Russia

Tall oil, dark-colored liquid with a pungent odor, which is a mixture of organic compounds, especially unsaturated fatty acids is manufactured as a by-product of the pulp-and-paper industry. Currently in Russia crude tall oil are able to produce 13 companies. Of these, only 5 have the equipment for its further processing. Unfortunately, it should be stated that in the near future, the number of producers of tall oil is likely to diminish because of the crisis of wood chemical industry in Russia. It is clear that it can be overcome only by creating new technically-advanced companies able to operate effectively in the current environment... The article provides a detailed overview of the current situation at the Russian market of this commercially very important product.
