Sodium Sulphate Production in Russia![]() Sodium sulphate is one of the most common water-soluble minerals in nature. Currently, Kuchuk Lake is the only commercially operated deposit of natural sodium sulphate in Russia. Sodium sulphate is produced by Kuchuksulphate JSC (Stepnoje Ozero village, Altay territory). Volzhsky Orgsynthese based in Volzhsky (Volgograd region) manufactures sodium sulphate of technical grade as a by-product. Novotroitsk Plant of Chromium Compounds OJSC (Novotroitsk, Orenburg region) and Russian Chrome 1915 CJSC (Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region) produces sodium sulphate using a chromate waste recycling technology. Sodium sulphate is also manufactured by Karpov Chemical Plant (Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan). More about their production achievements, market positions and foreign trade operations please read in the 79th issue of ECM.
