Latest Data on Russian Propylene Glycol Manufacturing![]() Propylene glycol was first prepared in 1859 by hydrolysis of propylene glycol diacetate. The proper chemical name for propylene glycol is 1.2 propanediol. It is used commercially in a large variety of applications. The Russian output of propylene glycol in 2012 amounted to 883 tonnes. It plunged by 38.5% as compared to 2011, when it made up 1,435 tonnes.
