Latest Data on Russian Propylene Glycol Manufacturing

Propylene glycol was first prepared in 1859 by hydrolysis of propylene glycol diacetate. The proper chemical name for propylene glycol is 1.2 propanediol. It is used commercially in a large variety of applications. The Russian output of propylene glycol in 2012 amounted to 883 tonnes. It plunged by 38.5% as compared to 2011, when it made up 1,435 tonnes.
