In #1, 2013 (100) issue of our magazine we have already briefly described the general situation of Ukrainian chemical industry. Apart from synthetic paints and some pharmaceuticals other sectors saw considerable decrease of the output. Unfortunately, in January-February 2013, the negative trend was unchanged. In particular, output of chemicals and chemical production decreased by 21.4%, production of rubber and plastic products fell by 1.5%. The output of coke, refined petroleum products for the period decreased by 24.5%.

Subsequently, many domestic chemical producers report sharp decline in profits and sales. Regretfully, among them there are too many large companies still holding the leading positions in the Ukrainian chemical industry...

But not everything is so bad in the Ukrainian chemical industry. Some medium-size and even large chemical manufacturers ended 2012 with profit. The worst may be over for them but the true recovery eludes the industry. Read the full article in the issue #3, 2013 (75).
