Organic Peroxides for Crosslinking: Review of World Production![]() Almost all thermoplastics, as well as natural and synthetic elastomers, can be crosslinked using organic peroxides. The major classes are dialkyl peroxides, peroxyesters and ketone peroxides. Today, the polymer market consumes more than 100,000 tpy of peroxides. In the last two decades, the average annual growth rate ranged between 2.5-4.5%. Three major producers dominate the market with three-quarters of global production: Akzo Nobel, Arkema and United Initiators. The companies have worldwide operations manufacturing a broad range of peroxides in various forms. Our article offers more detailed information on the issue.
