Blooming «oasis» of the Russian chemical industry?The Central Federal District (CFD) is one of the most developed Russian regions in the socio-economic terms. A prominent place in the CFD industry occupies chemical complex. In 2008 on it fell about 27.3% of total Russian chemical production with an annual growth rate of 25.9%. According to the indicators the region occupies a leading position in the country. Almost all segments of Russia's chemical business are at the forefront in the CFD. In terms of assortment breadth it is, no doubt, out of competition. However, there is the reverse of the medal. Promising chemical industry has also dark gaps. Lack of own raw materials, availability of obsolete funds, requiring substantial investment, environmental problems are only some of these negative factors hindering the further growth of the region's economy, and therefore Russian economy as a whole.
