Phenol-formaldehyde resins are obtained by polycondensation of phenols with formaldehyde or its derivatives. PF resins have widespread application as adhesives in production of composite materials based on wood, paper and fabrics. Production of PF resins in Russia develops quickly due to permanently growing demand from the consuming branches. In 2008 the output volume amounted to 123,900 tonnes.
