Superphosphates: Production and Market in the CIS

Superphosphates are high-performance universal fertilisers, which could be applied in any kind of use, in any soil or climatic zone and for every crop. Superphosphates are produced in such CIS countries as Russia (Phosphorit PG Ltd), Ukraine (Sumykhimprom JSC), Belarus (Gomel Chemical Plant JSC), Kazakhstan (Kazphosphate LLC) and Uzbekistan (Qo’qon Superfosfat Zavodi JSC and JV Elektrkimyozavodi CJSC). Companies Phosphorit, Kazfosfat and Elektrkimyozavodi manufacture a simple superphosphate and the others – an ammoniated superphosphate. Gomel Chemical Plant is the largest SSP producer. At the present time this company is able to produce 300,000 tonnes of SSP annually.
