Carbon Black in CIS: Production and Market

Carbon black, sometimes incorrectly called soot, is widely used as a reinforcing agent in tyre and mechanical rubber goods production, consumer goods, cables, etc. It is used in the manufacturing of strong and wear-resistant rubbers for tyre treads, conveyor belts, and other products. As a pigment, carbon black is notable for its deep black colour, excellent spreading capacity, colouring power, and high weather, light, heat, and chemical resistance.
The production technologies and main market players of the world's carbon black market have been described previously in the August issue of 2007 of our journal. Since that time the production and market situation of this commodity has changed slightly in the CIS. This article is dedicated to the review of the market and output situation changes in the CIS.
