World and Russian Fertilisers Market

     The International conference «Mineral Fertilisers – 2009» was held 7 September in Moscow and was organised by consulting company Creon CJSC. The main focus pertained to the current situation in the world and Russian fertiliser markets. Particularly, experts analysed the nitrogen and phosphorous markets in detail. The world nitrogen fertilisers market did not suffer from economic turmoil very much. The consumption reduction would affect negatively on the crops yield, so these agrochemical products consumption declined just by 1% in 2008 YOY. The world phosphorous fertiliser market is experiencing a difficult period these days. It's become practically paralysed due to rapid price fluctuations. In 2008 phosphorous fertiliser consumption declined to 36m tonnes in terms of P2O5, a 7.7% drop year over year.
