Plastic production seems to be thriving in spite of the global recession badly affecting the world chemical industry. The annual 9th Moscow international exhibition of raw materials, equipment and technologies for plastics “Plastic Industry Show 2008” took place 27-30 October, organised by Maxima Inc. (Moscow) in co-operation with Expocentre. It displayed the present reasonably favourable position of the plastic sector.
This year’s event brought together the leaders of the domestic and foreign markets – Belneftehim-Ros Ltd, Polyplastic Group, Plastautomatic, Promplast Industry, Bayer, Cybertech, Haitian, Piovan, and Assocomaplast, the Italian plastics and rubber processing machinery and moulds manufacturers’ association. All exhibitors pointed out that the main challenges nowadays are shortages of electricity, labour and other vital resources. Economically efficient methods of manufacturing and plastic waste recycling technologies were among the top subjects this year.
