Thermoplastic Elastomers 2008 Conference

     Simple and speedy processing together with non-waste producing technology has recently made thermoplastic elastomers quite popular. This product field has become one of the most promising sectors in polymer production. In the past few years the output of thermoplastic elastomers has been stably growing with an annual rate ranging from 10 to 15%. In their outlook for 2008 experts state that only in Western and Central Europe the elastomer consumption is going to reach 400,000-500,000 tonnes. Presently, there are more than 700 trade marks of thermoplastic elastomers worldwide featuring a wide spectrum of performance properties. New developments in the production technology, application spheres, and market for thermoplastic elastomers in Russia were discussed at the 2nd International Conference Thermoplastic Elastomers 2008, which took place in Moscow on 27 June. The Conference enjoyed the attendance of more than 30 Russian and overseas companies such as Dow Europe, Elastron Kimya, Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc., and Polyplastic CJSC (both from Russia).
