Review of World’s Polypropylene Production and Market

Polypropylene (PP) ranks the second most widely spread polymer. The CIS countries account for 36% of the total polypropylene capacity of the Central and Eastern Europe. In 2010, the total polypropylene output in Russia amounted to 628,000 tonnes, up 5.6% as compared to 2009. Vinyl-pyridine latex (VPL) is used for dipping tyre cord fabric and industrial cloth to enhance their adhesion to rubber compounds. Graphite's properties are useful over a wide range of industrial applications. This is a good conductor of heat and electricity and a neutron moderator. In 2011, the consumption of the natural graphite in Russia was 25,000 tonnes.
