PVC in Russia: With Hope For The Best

The Russian PVC market is experiencing a huge supply scarcity which determines boom in prices and loss of market positions. The Russian PVC manufacturers who were earlier noticed at the world market now are replaced...

CIS Production and Market of Chlorohydrocarbons C2

The production of chlorohydrocarbons C2 in Russia/CIS is experiencing the phase of recession. Only vinyl chloride, a monomer for PVC, is produced steadily and is in high demand. There is a deficit of polyvinyl chloride in the CIS market, especially in Russia and Ukraine. A sustained growth in consumption for this polymer expected in the years to come induces existing companies to expand their capacities...

Review of Potassium Chloride Production in CIS

For the last year, the CIS consumption of KCl hiked 29% and it will probably lead to rise in price and demand for potash fertilisers. The average growth in potash fertiliser demand is 5-7% per year. It is supposed that in early 2011, Uralkali combined with Silvinit JSC will have a total capacity of about 10.5m tpy. By 2012 the capacity is planned to be increased to 12.64m tpy. Belaruskalli JSC plans...
